Just down the road about seven miles away, there lies a large indian casino. Before i lived in such close proximity to the casino, i would gather my friends and make a gambling trip maybe once a month for some fun. Now that we live so close to the casino the same friends and relatives stop to visit on their way to the casino. Often, they will invite me along with them, for a few hours, and ever since i have spent more time there, i have come to notice that gambling addiction is serious problem in our area. |

Many think they can’t be addicts because the drugs they are depending on are prescription drugs. At least that’s what they are saying to the public. Though inside, you will often find that they still have the high level of denial that the next ones do anyways. Hiding their prescription drugs from everyone, and even themselves at times when under the influence are definite signs they are in fact in denial that they have a problem with these legitimate drugs. |

Mood altering substances can come in physical and emotional ways. Whether your addiction is drugs, shopping, eating, or nearly anything else; the most important part of finding recovery from your addiction will be to stop using mind and mood altering things in general. |

Many drug addiction problems begin at birth or in early life. Addictive nature can sometimes be traced to the gene level. Other aspects of addiction are learned. Kids often find the worst end of this, and in the long run, wind up with a lifelong problem as a result since it begins long before they have many answers in life. |

There is a lot more to addiction than meets many eyes. It’s too easy to start pointing and blaming. Addictions come in many forms and to many things. Addiction doesn’t isolate any one particular class, income level, race, creed, or other difference. In the big picture, it spans nearly every level and community in life. |
